OP Glassworks is a collaborative glass studio founded by artists Keegan O’Brien and Emily Clair Potter, bringing together their shared passion for the material’s transformative potential and their unique artistic visions. The studio combines Keegan's technical expertise and sculptural approach with Emily’s design focused perspective, resulting in a dynamic space for creative exploration and innovation.
Keegan O'Brien
Keegan O’Brien, originally from Northwest Ohio, earned his three dimensional bachelor of fine arts from Bowling Green State University in 2019. His artistic journey began with ceramics, wood, and found objects, but he found his true passion in glass. The medium's interplay with light, its optical qualities, and its rich craft history captivated him, offering new dimensions for exploration in sculpture. Upon graduation, Keegan refined his craft as a gaffer, immersing himself in the technical nuances of the medium and deepening his connection to its transformative nature. He later established his own studio practice in South Florida, where he brought his vision to life, creating and sharing his work with the world. Now based in Kansas City, Keegan continues to push the boundaries of his artistic practice, contributing to his own growth while engaging with and enriching the local glass art community.
Emily Clair Potter
Growing up amidst the vast, rolling fields of Northwest Ohio, Emily Clair Potter developed a deep appreciation for the natural world. The rhythmic repetition of organic forms has profoundly shaped her exploration of the intimate connections that exist within the shared structures of living beings. Potter began working with glass in 2018. She was drawn to the material’s fluidity and transformative nature. She continues to explore the way glass moves, shifts, and connects, reflecting the continuous and interconnected cycle of life. The inherent fluidity of glass allows Potter to investigate how organic forms can morph and flow into one another, creating a dynamic, evolving relationship between form and structure. Her work has been recognized with accolades, including a research grant through Bowling Green State University, her alma mater where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
